Gold Certification: Hallmarking is the accurate determination and official recording of the proportionate content of precious metal in gold. Hallmarks are thus official marks used in many countries as a guarantee of purity or fineness of gold jewellery. Hallmarking guarantees a piece of Jewellery for its actual purity and originality. Five Symbols used to identify hallmarked jewellery. The marking is done either using punches or laser marking machine. They are usually present at the back /inner side of a jewellery article. You might need a magnifying lens though to clearly view them.

Silver Certification : A maker’s mark or trademark must accompany the quality stamp. Always look for both brandings to guarantee the quality of your silver jewellery. Genuine Sterling Silver jewellery bears stamp of BIS hallmark. These “fineness” marks are stamped into the metal and indicate the ratio of pure silver to added alloys, and can appear marked as sterling, sterling silver, ster, 925, 92.5 or .925.
Platinum Certification: When judging the value of platinum jewellery, always ensure that the material is indeed platinum (and not another metal, such as white gold) by checking for the amount of platinum content on the back of the piece. There is a symbol or mark that is stamped inside each piece of platinum jewellery. Usually, it bears the purity hallmark of 950. Platinum content is usually marked as “950”, “950Pt”, “950 Plat”, or “Plat”. You can identify a piece of platinum jewellery by its hallmark – a symbol or mark to indicate that it is high quality platinum. Platinum jewellery contains either 90% or 95% pure platinum. Small amounts of iridium and ruthenium are commonly added to it, to give it a harder, stronger alloy that retains the advantages of pure platinum. Usually 95% pure, platinum never fades or tarnishes but keeps its natural white colour for a lifetime.
Diamond Certification : A diamond certificate, also known as Diamond Grading Report or Diamond Quality Document, is issued following a professional and unbiased examination to authenticate a diamond’s attributes. The carat weight, colour and clarity are all validated, together with the diamond’s exact measurements. Each diamond certificate issued is uniquely numbered and corresponds to individual diamond. The diamonds in the Jewellery Mounts will not be individually certified unless expressly mentioned at the point of purchase. In other words, a diamond certificate can be accurately described as the blueprint of a diamond. The diamond certificate is also valuable for insurance purposes, as it provides a professional, independent evaluation of the diamond.
