The creative house, Met God, She’s Black is launching its podcast of the same name on Wednesday, February 5, 2020. Met God, She’s Black grew as a close nit community and expanded into a social justice art collective creating safe spaces, artistic social projects and healing experiences. The podcast will continue this initiative, with stories told by many black cis-gender women, trans women and non-binary beings on various topics such as mental health, sexuality, and family dynamics.
For over a year Met God, She’s Black created impacting intimate experiences, including Black Women’s Day of Meditation held at the interconnected co-working space, The Assemblage in Manhattan and the Pvssy Plate Painting Party workshop currently residing at the New Women Space in Brooklyn. Some of the podcast episodes will be recorded live during events in a group discussion structure. The podcast will be a place to listen to the triumphs, revelations and testimonies shared by the many individuals in our community through their black experiences.
Expect a new episode every Wednesday on Apple Podcast, Google Podcasts, Stitcher Radio, Soundcloud and other podcast platforms. Each 30 to 45 minute episode will consist of multiple monologues from numerous individuals, who identify with various attributes of humanism. The season will have a total of ten to twelve episodes ending with a finale in the Spring. There will be addition content available by many of the podcast participants as written and visual expansions of their stories on the Met God, She’s Black blog at www.metgodshesblack.com.
Met God, She’s Black is bringing a dash of laughs, tears, reflection and wisdom by human beings willing to be vulnerable with the world. Expect poetry, art, historical facts and some mantras right to your speakers and headphones. Come open and ready to hear black thoughts out loud.

About the creators of Met God, She’s Black:
Majella has years of experience in media and social research. She has conducted numerous workshops including “The Wakanda Workshop” to address racial inequalities using Marvel’s “Black Panther’s” film as a reference point and the “Pvssy Plate Painting Party” to address gender inequalities and the objectification of the female body inspired by Judy Chicago’s feminist work called “The Dinner Party”. She is also a writer and artist, involved with many organizations including Support Creativity, the United Nations Association, New Women Space, Be Social Change and others.
Sherrie’s passion in the connection between the human social experience and it’s biological counterpart has led her into years of experience as an medical administrator and researcher, focused on biotechnological advances, genetics and medical holistic alternatives. This experience helped her develop various projects including PTSD of Colonialism and The Rehab America Summit. With her dedication towards human right advocacy, she has supported many activists and organizations, specifically focused on improving the mental, spiritual and physical well-being of people of color.
