There are many metro stations here, which mean that it is easy for everyone in Delhi to get there, Connaught Place itself has a nice park to sit on, and there are shops and restaurants of a higher class.
I stayed at the Bloom Rooms Janpath Hotel in Central Delhi, which I love and really recommend. It is located in the Janpath area, which has its own metro station, close to the Janpath Market, which is a good place for shopping, two stops from Khan Market (more on that below) and a short walk from Connaught Place. Not only that, but the hotel is beautifully designed, the staff is friendly, there is a great cafe on site and overall it is a nice place to recuperate after sightseeing in Delhi while still staying in Central Delhi.
It is also next to the Shangri-La Hotel and the Le Meridien Hotel in Delhi, so it has the same fantastic location as these five-star hotels in Delhi but is much more affordable.
If you prefer to stay in South Delhi, this is also possible. I also stayed at B&B Prakash Kutir in South Delhi at Hauz Khas. Staying here means it takes a little longer to enter Central and Old Delhi, but there are Delhi monuments to visit, such as the Lotus Temple and Qutub Minar nearby, and from staying here you will get a much more residential and local view of Delhi. Prakash Kutir B&B is more like a shelter, to be honest, as the building is part of the family home, partly a hotel.
